The Guins welcome the Maple Leafs to Mellon Arena tonight for a 7 o'clock showdown. The Pens are coming off of a huge win Thursday night in Atlanta and the Leafs are on game two of a three game road trip.
The last time the two teams met the Guins dominated with the help of the Pittsburgh Threesome. Flower stopped 26 of 27 shots, Sid had a goal and three assists and Geno had 4 assists.
Mikey T will need more of the same from his team tonight. Flower looked good in his return Thursday and will need to continue to play well against the NHL's fifth highest-shooting team. Sid and Geno should look to capitalize against a sketchy goalie tandem of CuJo and Toskala who gave up eight goals in their last game to Boston.
Also, look for an energized performance from MadMax. Not only will he return to the lineup tonight after missing the Guins' last two games but he will do so with a new 2-year contract extension under his belt.
Have your baby blue ready tonight as well. The black-and-gold will be blue-and-gold tonight as they will dawn their third jerseys yet again.
